Let’s dive into these 8 meaningful Easter crafts for kids! From Palm Sunday to the Empty Tomb

  1. Palm Branch Craft

Materials:

Steps:

  1. Cut the Palm Leaves: Cut 8-12 long strips of green construction paper (about 1 inch wide and 6-10 inches long).

  2. Shape the Leaves: Gently fold each strip in half lengthwise to create a natural leaf texture. And trim the ends into points to look more like real palm fronds.

  3. Attach the Leaves to the Handle: Glue or tape each strip to a popsicle stick, wooden dowel, or straw, layering them slightly to create a full effect. Start at the bottom and work your way up, spacing them evenly.

  4. Add a Message (Optional): Use a black marker to write "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" (Mark 11:9) on one of the leaves.

Suggested reading for this Palm Sunday story: Matthew 21:6-11

You can use it as Easter decor in your home.

  3. Draw eyes, nose, and mouth using a black marker.

Optional: Cut out small white paper circles for the eyes and glue them on before adding black pupils.

  4. Cut small strips of black or brown paper for the mane and tail. Glue them along the back of the donkey's neck and the tail area.

  5. Clip a wooden clothespin to the bottom of the donkey so it can stand upright.

If using a popsicle stick, glue it behind the donkey for a puppet-style figure.

  6. Write a Bible Verse: On the body, write “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Mark 11:9).

  7. Display or Play: Use it for storytelling or pair it with a Palm Branch Craft for a full Palm Sunday scene.
